Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Finnect (“Finnect”, “we”, “us”), a marketing agency located at 1874 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest, Unit 2, Montréal, Québec H3J 1M6, collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit this website or communicate with us. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Québec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25, and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
Person responsible for the protection of personal information
As required by Québec law, Finnect has designated a person responsible for the protection of personal information. You can reach this person by mail at the address above (attention: Privacy Officer) or through the form on our contact page. Direct any question, complaint or request about your personal information to them.
What we collect
- Information you give us. When you use our contact form or book a call, we collect your name, work email, firm or practice name, the service you are interested in, and anything you write in your message.
- Booking details. If you schedule a meeting through our booking tool, that tool collects the date, time and contact details needed to hold the meeting.
- Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operations.
- Browser storage. We store a small language preference and interface flags in your browser (see the table below). We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
- Fonts. This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts; when your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address as part of that request.
Why we collect it
We use personal information to respond to your inquiries, hold the meetings you book, provide and improve our services, send communications you have consented to receive, and meet our legal obligations. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to those listed here without asking you first.
Consent
We collect personal information with your consent, for example when you submit a form or book a meeting. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice, by contacting the person responsible for privacy. Commercial electronic messages are sent only with consent as required by CASL, and every such message includes a working unsubscribe mechanism that we honour promptly.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, such as our website host, customer relationship management platform, booking and scheduling tool, and email service, and only what they need to perform their function. These providers are bound to protect the information and use it solely to provide services to us. Some providers store information on servers outside Québec or outside Canada (including the United States); where information leaves Québec, we take the steps required by Law 25, including assessing that it will receive adequate protection.
Retention and safeguards
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law, then destroy or anonymize it. We protect it with safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including access controls and encrypted connections (this site is served over HTTPS). If a confidentiality incident involving your personal information presents a risk of serious injury, we will notify the Commission d’accès à l’information and the affected persons as required by law.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask that it be corrected, ask that it be deleted, withdraw consent to its use, and ask that it stop being disseminated or be de-indexed where the law provides for it. Requests go to the person responsible for privacy at the address above; we respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
